tell the world that we finally got it all right

Natalie had really gone all out for this thing, hadn't she? Leo, for his part, had only been involved enough to put together the mechanical birds she'd asked for. How the wedding and reception looked didn't matter to him a bit - all he wanted was her, and he had her.

Though that wasn't to say he didn't appreciate all the work she'd done. Everything looked amazing, and it all had the steampunk vibe Leo and his siblings were known for, but with just enough touches of magic to suit herself, too. All in all, it was the best wedding he could have hoped for, and the only thing that could make it better would be if he could convince Natalie to have a dance with him, after all. She'd resisted so far, given him crap when he's tried to teach her, but maybe now that the day is here...

But even that, he could do without if he had to. They're here, surrounded by friends and family (and that was still a strange thought to Leo, especially now that Dan was legally his father-in-law), and they're together and this time, it's permanent. Even their daughter, Josephine, was here, being watched by Piper or Dany or Enjolras or Dan in turns. It was all he needed, he thought, pulling his new bride close to nab another kiss. A perfect day for a perfect woman, and Leo was beyond elated to show how much he loved her for all the world to see.

He watches their daughter in her little bed, turning away only when Nat leans against him to wrap his arms around her waist. This is all he needs, to have her here in his arms. She's beautiful, and he loves her more than anything, the only possible exception being their daughter, and even Jo's been done up prettily for the occasion. He smiles when she gives him the flower, tucking it in just enough to make sure it stays. Normally, he wouldn't keep something like that, but tonight is special. He's happy to wear her flower for now.

Happily, he returns the kiss, not bothering to hold back despite knowing her father is here. Dan is keeping Jo busy, and besides, this is their day. They shouldn't have to care about a PDA or two for once. "Maybe," he says softly against her lips, casting a significant glance toward the dance floor.

"What?" Natalie mumbles back all innocently, that same impish gleam in her eyes, normally accompanied by a shit-eating grin. Her smile is more reserved, her eyebrows lifted.

She lifts a hand to tuck a curl behind her ear, leaning her forehead against his again. It's so easy to stay in this little newlywed bubble, but she supposes she can't be at her table for the entirety of her party.

She knows exactly what he wants, but as usual, she takes some weird pleasure in making him say it. It's not frustrating like usual tonight, so all he does is shake his head while the party goes on around them.

"I want to make sure I get one more dance out of you before we leave," he admits finally, hand trailing up her arm.

She laughs softly, stealing another kiss from him. Wordlessly, she gets to her feet and holds her hands out to Leo, waggling her eyebrows.

Wait. She holds one finger up before stepping out of the heels, which, though short, are a little too tight this late in the game. Time to go barefooted.

Okay. Natale nods again, reaching for his hands.

He grins brightly, eagerly taking her hands and leading her to the dance floor. There's nothing fancy to the dance he leads her in; for once, Leo just keeps it simple, not showing off and only keeping her close, his arms around her waist. He hardly even hears the song; all that matters is that Natalie is here.

"I love you, Nat," he says softly, resting his forehead against hers.

"I love you, Leo."

She slides one hand up his shoulder, placing it on the curve of his neck instead, her other hand wrapped around his. The steps are simple enough for Natalie to at least forget about what she's doing, caught up in the moment all over again because she just loves being with him. They deserve this day - he does.

"You know I'm yours," she likes to remind him.

He snorts, completely lost in this little romantic moment of theirs.

"Thanks, I needed clarification on that. Saying our vows in there kind of left me wonder," Leo jokes, stealing a quick kiss and taking her into a twirl.

"I don't want you to feel any doubt."

Natalie giggles a little when she spins under his arm, her dress fanning out around her legs. She floats on air, light on her feet. When she spins into his arms again, she pulls him into a tender kiss.

"I don't," he assures her, smiling at the sound. It's so rare that Natalie actually giggles - yet another good thing to remember about the occasion. The way she spins back to him is surprisingly smooth, right into the kiss she pulls him in for. When they part, he says teasingly, "You're getting better at this dancing thing, you know."

"You know I'm a fast learner and I just like giving you shit anyway," Natalie reminds him, pressing her forehead to his.

"It's all out of love, I swear. Plus, I learned for you, didn't I?" Maybe she doesn't have fancy footwork but she's doing okay. It's a far cry from their hilariously awkward (for her) first dance. She angles her head a little to watch the crowd from where they are off the center of the dance floor, shooting a smile at some of her friends.

"I know, I know - you're a total jerk," Leo says, no small amount of affection in his voice. "At least you aren't tripping over your two left feet."

He knows they're being watched, but doesn't even care. It's their day; why shouldn't everyone be watching? Besides, everyone is happy for them, and Leo is just happy to be able to show how much he loves her in public, instead of keeping everything hidden behind closed doors like Natalie prefers. Piper, having dragged Jason to the dance floor, beams at them, and he flashes her a grin before looking back at Natalie.

"Thank you."

"Thanks for what? Learning how to dance?"

She isn't that bad. It may be a familial thing, having a light step - though, on the other hand, there are some less graceful half-siblings she could also mention. Either way, she can at least follow him whenever he leads, though it takes a lot of effort, getting her to loosen her hips. (Well, at least on the dance floor.)

"That, and for letting me drag you out to dance in public." Which he knows she isn't the most fond of, depending on her mood. Still, he's glad she actually is okay with it, and did take his tips to heart for their first dance as husband and wife. Silly though it seems, it means a lot to him.

"And for everything else," he adds, dropping a kiss on her cheek. "Have I told you you look amazing?"

"Like, a million times, honestly, but I like hearing it," Natalie admits, laughing.

"You look good too," she adds, her eyes alight as she says it. "Even if I think your facial hair scratches my face."

"Good, because I'm going to keep saying it."

Of course, he wrinkles his nose at her when she takes a jab at his beard. Leo had wondered earlier if he should shave before the ceremony, but Piper had insisted that he looked great as he was, as long as it was trimmed nicely, and she had a point when she said he wouldn't want to show up with cuts all over his face.

"I'll show you scratchy," he says impishly, leaning in to deliberately brush his cheek back and forth on hers. Teasing aside, he knows she enjoys it just as well as she does when he's clean-shaven - but that doesn't mean he shouldn't still retaliate.

"H-Hey!"

Natalie squirms like she's a kid again, gently pushing against him as she bursts out laughing. Typical behavior of the two of them, now grown adults. Easily, however, Natalie grabs his face with one hand, cupping his chin and squeezing his cheeks with both fingers.

"You don't want any of this makeup on your face, do you? 'Cause I'm not afraid to use it."

"You wouldn't," he retorts. "You wouldn't want to mess up your pretty face, would you?"

She'd be pretty either way, and she knows he'd think so regardless of the makeup situation. But she doesn't always wear makeup, so it's a prime time to tease her about it while he can.

"I'll do it if I could see you with some of this blue eyeliner on your face," she chuckles, pulling him in for a kiss instead.

After a moment, she spins in his arms, wrapping them around her waist as she rests her back against his chest, smiling to herself, sighing contentedly.

"You're a jerk even on our wedding day," he says with a chuckle, shaking his head. Smiling, Leo adapts easily to this adjustment, fitting his arms snugly around her and resting his chin on her shoulder, half-inch height difference and all.

"I am," she sings, pressing her cheek to his.

"You know," Natalie adds conspiratorially, squeezing his hands, "our wedding night suite should be ready for us right now." She's joking, of course, but she did take care to pick out the champagne and book the room with the best view of the city. There is enough of a romantic in her to do that much. The rest, she leaves up to her husband.

“That so,” he says thoughtfully, closing his eyes for a moment to kiss her shoulder. He’s had a few things in mind for it already - even had a few things sent there himself, one way or another. It’s not the cabin by the lake he’d set up, but tonight, Leo thinks, will be a memorable one, for sure. “I thought you still wanted to stick around for a while.”

"I probably should," she sighs.

"I did promise Dad another dance on the promise that he wouldn't get all sappy on me while we did it," Natalie muses, "and we should take Josephine out on the floor for a little bit. And eat more cake."

She purses her lips to the side. "I am impatient to have sex with you though."

Leo groans, burying his face in her neck.

"You can't just say that," he complains. It's already hard enough resisting her when she's done up so beautifully, a prime invitation for him to go and dismantle her perfect appearance, much like he's done with his machines before. "How am I supposed to hold out for the rest of the night with you saying things like that?"

Honestly, if it weren't for all the guests, all the people they were supposed to see, he'd have half a mind to push her up against a wall and take care of that right now. But as usual, Natalie is right. There are some things they need to do before they vanish into the night; Leo casts a glance at Jo, laughing in Dan's arms, and sighs.

If only he hadn't said anything.

"I'm sorry!" she laughs, "I just wanted to be honest and for you to know how attractive I find you right now."

They could go for a quckie in a hallway, but Natalie wants to save those less than proper activities for after their wedding night. As unromantic as she can be, she still wants their first time as a married couple to be sweet. And, really, it wouldn't be right with everyone else here for them.

"Save it for later, okay?" she murmurs once she turns around in his arms to face him. "Then give me everything you've got."

He grumbles good-naturedly, but she always has enjoyed it when he's dressed up, hasn't she? Rare as it is, Leo supposes he could see why - a change of pace is always nice, after all.

"Later," he confirms, kissing her nose with a grin. "You won't know what hit you."

Now he'll just have to get through the night, and try not to get too distracted whenever he sees her.
