tell the world that we finally got it all right
Natalie had really gone all out for this thing, hadn't she? Leo, for his part, had only been involved enough to put together the mechanical birds she'd asked for. How the wedding and reception looked didn't matter to him a bit - all he wanted was her, and he had her.
Though that wasn't to say he didn't appreciate all the work she'd done. Everything looked amazing, and it all had the steampunk vibe Leo and his siblings were known for, but with just enough touches of magic to suit herself, too. All in all, it was the best wedding he could have hoped for, and the only thing that could make it better would be if he could convince Natalie to have a dance with him, after all. She'd resisted so far, given him crap when he's tried to teach her, but maybe now that the day is here...
But even that, he could do without if he had to. They're here, surrounded by friends and family (and that was still a strange thought to Leo, especially now that Dan was legally his father-in-law), and they're together and this time, it's permanent. Even their daughter, Josephine, was here, being watched by Piper or Dany or Enjolras or Dan in turns. It was all he needed, he thought, pulling his new bride close to nab another kiss. A perfect day for a perfect woman, and Leo was beyond elated to show how much he loved her for all the world to see.

She'd be pretty either way, and she knows he'd think so regardless of the makeup situation. But she doesn't always wear makeup, so it's a prime time to tease her about it while he can.

After a moment, she spins in his arms, wrapping them around her waist as she rests her back against his chest, smiling to herself, sighing contentedly.

"You know," Natalie adds conspiratorially, squeezing his hands, "our wedding night suite should be ready for us right now." She's joking, of course, but she did take care to pick out the champagne and book the room with the best view of the city. There is enough of a romantic in her to do that much. The rest, she leaves up to her husband.

"I did promise Dad another dance on the promise that he wouldn't get all sappy on me while we did it," Natalie muses, "and we should take Josephine out on the floor for a little bit. And eat more cake."
She purses her lips to the side. "I am impatient to have sex with you though."
no subject
"You can't just say that," he complains. It's already hard enough resisting her when she's done up so beautifully, a prime invitation for him to go and dismantle her perfect appearance, much like he's done with his machines before. "How am I supposed to hold out for the rest of the night with you saying things like that?"
Honestly, if it weren't for all the guests, all the people they were supposed to see, he'd have half a mind to push her up against a wall and take care of that right now. But as usual, Natalie is right. There are some things they need to do before they vanish into the night; Leo casts a glance at Jo, laughing in Dan's arms, and sighs.
If only he hadn't said anything.

They could go for a quckie in a hallway, but Natalie wants to save those less than proper activities for after their wedding night. As unromantic as she can be, she still wants their first time as a married couple to be sweet. And, really, it wouldn't be right with everyone else here for them.
"Save it for later, okay?" she murmurs once she turns around in his arms to face him. "Then give me everything you've got."
no subject
"Later," he confirms, kissing her nose with a grin. "You won't know what hit you."
Now he'll just have to get through the night, and try not to get too distracted whenever he sees her.
no subject
"I will hold you to that," she says firmly.
It seems wise to hold back another dirty comment about keeping him busy and she, instead, rests her head on his shoulder.

"Now I have to get through tonight with that at the front of my mind," Leo mutters, holding her tight against him. "That cake better be worth it."
no subject
She kisses him again, grinning.
"I love you, grumpy face."
no subject
Rolling his eyes, he kisses her back and comments, "Funny, hearing that from you. But I love you, too."

Gently pulling away, she lifts a hand to summon their cake forward, gliding easily through the crowd. Instantly, a helpful nymph hands her the knife and Natalie waggles her eyebrows at Leo, holding her free hand out to him while she waits for the crowd to gather around them again.

Another nymph appears, offering plates as the crowd takes notice and starts to converge. They get the first slices, of course, and when it comes to share a bite like in some chick flick, Leo makes a point to shove it right in her face, laughing but trying to be careful not to get it on her dress. He'll pay for it later.

She laughs through the cake, licking around her lips, reaching for a napkin to wipe her face.

Excusing herself, she rushes to join them, picking up her skirt a little so she can get across the ballroom floor. "What moves are you showing her?"
no subject
"All of them," he informs her excitedly, "but we're doing a waltz right now. Salsa will come later."
no subject
"Hopefully she has a knack for salsa more than her mommy does." She grins up at Leo.

He grins back at this wife - the thought still sends a thrill of excitement through him, especially after what she’d said earlier - and down at their little girl. “I can promise you she will,” he says fondly. “Look - Jo has no problems finding the rhythm. And she actually knows where to put her feet, unlike some people.”
Well. As much as a toddler could.
no subject
"Maybe she'll be a competitive ballroom dancer." Laughing, she squeezes Josephine's middle again, enjoying her light laughter. "What do you think? Is Dancing with the Stars in your future?" she asks, using a very rare, playful mommy voice reserved only for her child.
no subject
He grins as Natalie talks to her, watching Jo light up with smiles and giggles. He always has loved seeing the two of them together. They were his girls - his family. There’s the occasional day where he still wonders if he’s not a good father, but their daughter is so happy most of the time that it’s impossible to dwell on for long.
“She could be! Maybe we should get her enrolled in classes,” Leo suggests playfully. “Awesome as I may be, I’m pretty sure I don’t qualify as a professional dance instructor.”
no subject
"Maybe dad will dance with us in the meantime, huh?"
