They could stay like this for a while. It wouldn't have been the first time they had. Natalie had said it before, how damaged they both were, what a pair they made, just two souls who needed each other for support and comfort. Still, having sex with him felt amazing, and she wanted him to know it, to feel what she felt. The heat from his hands only pulled her closer, still unscathed, and she tossed her hair back, arching into him as she readied herself for the jump and the all.
The flames - he was vaguely aware of them at best, but Leo trusted her to tell him if they got too out of hand. She wouldn't let him hurt her, not after everything she knew he'd been through, and especially not after his dream last night. That was what mattered - that, and knowing that Natalie wouldn't leave if he still needed her.
He bit his lip on a groan as she arched her back, rolling his head back as he let the sensation wash over him and clear away his thoughts to one simple thing. All he needed right now was Natalie, and she was doing everything to make sure Leo knew he had her, gradually bringing him to the edge.
"I'm - I'm almost," she whimpered desperately, gripping him tighter, clenching her legs. It was all frantic, chaotic, but nonetheless sincere and full of the mess of emotions the two of them had for each other.
"Too hot," Natalie heard herself saying, finding a moment of clarity to keep him in check. She wanted him to keep touching her, but she wanted to make sure he didn't leave this regretting anything.
Doing that, Natalie managed to intensify everything, and he made a quiet, strained sound as she took him closer. As chaotic and desperate as it was, having this with her - having her here with him... If he stopped to think about it, he could tell it was helping him get rid of some of his nervousness, even a little.
Of course, part of that, Leo realized as she spoke to him, might be his power cutting loose. His eyes shot open, his lips parted, and he was frustrated to find that he was losing control after all. "Sorry, I'm sorry," he whispered, kissing her as he tried to slow his hands, managing to reduce it back to mere sparks, and hopefully, down to nothing.
"It's okay," she murmured in return, "I'm okay, Leo. I love you."
Natalie kissed him fiercely, riding harder and faster until she eventually hits the edge and tumbles over, her cry muffled by their kiss. Her movements slowed, but she did run her hands over each mark she left on him.
"I - I love you, too," he breathed against her lips. The faster she moved, the harder it was for him to hold back, but he fought it, up until he felt Natalie let go. He makes a muffled, wordless sound as the feeling crashed over him, slowly receding afterward and making him shiver when he felt her touch on each little mark she'd left.
With a quiet sigh, Leo's arms wrapped around her waist again, refusing to let her go just yet. It helped - that much was clear in how his shoulders slumped, most of the tension gone. But he still wasn't ready to be left alone.
"Let's lay back," she suggested, kissing his temple and smoothing his hair back with both her hands. She felt that warmth and tingle that always came after sex with him, but she doesn't bask in it.
"I'll stay here with you," Natalie added quickly, not wanting him to think that she was just going to leave him after all of that.
With a nod, he shifted with her in his arms, a soft sigh coming out as he slid out of her. Slowly, he stretched out next to her, tightening his arms when they're still again.
"Thank you," he murmured. He was hesitant to say more, but... "And... I'm sorry. For the... for the fire."
She climbed off and stretched out on the bed, half her weight over him so she could still press small kisses along his lips and jaw. "It's okay. I'm not hurt," she assured him. A part of her wants to ask if he feels any better, but she decided to leave that alone for now.
"Good." He wouldn't know what to do with himself if she was hurt. That was the last thing he wanted.
Now, with the stress from the nightmare drained from his body, Leo just felt... tired. Still hot, still close to losing it if he were to be triggered by the wrong thing, but for the most part, he was... okay, he supposed. A tiny bit better, thankfully not worse, and for once, he didn't have to feel alone on this day.For that, he was grateful, and he hoped she knew that.
