If it were anyone else, he'd tell Maya to let Lydia be the sun's victim. She's the token red-head, after all, but Stiles has never tried to hide that he still has feelings for her, even if he's accepted that there's no chance anything could work out between them. Instead he simply rolls his eyes and grabs the bottle of sunscreen, stripping off his shirt and squeezing some out to put on.
"So let Scott be the lobster," he says as he starts rubbing the stuff in. "He can peel off all that nasty werewolf hair and everything. Here, make yourself useful." And he tosses the bottle over to Maya before continuing to work on his arms.
Maya was unaware of the deep personal sacrifice that Stiles had to make, between throwing the girl he loved or his best friend under the sunlight bus. Instead she was far more happy to help, it was a perfect blend of desires.
The sooner he had sunblocked up, sooner they could have fun. She got to run her hands over him.
Really how was this a losing scenario!? Maya fumbled to catch the bottle before squirting some into her hands as she walked over to work on his back and shoulders. It should be noted that she's very thorough as she works her hands over his skin. Nobody can guess why. "Lobsterwolves would be a pretty terrifying thing to run into..." Yes, that's where her mind should be at the idea of Scott being a lobster.
It was a very difficult decision, but Scott's always sort of been his scapegoat for certain things, and Stiles knew his pale skin was extra sensitive to the sun. He didn't want to risk it, and not just for the pain - how impossible would it be to do things with Maya if he ended up being the one with tomato-red peeling skin?
And there were absolutely no ulterior motives in having Maya help him put on the sunscreen - none, and that included the mini-massage that came with rubbing it all in. He deliberately kept his focus on his arms instead, at least until all the others were far enough away that they could think about doing anything more.
"Just think how gross it would be," Stiles said with a dumb grin. Scott could probably hear everything they were saying right now, and he didn't really care. They were friends for a reason, and who knew if Scott could even get a sunburn in the first place? That was something they hadn't tested yet. "I feel bad for Kira. She's going to be the one putting aloe on his back, and you've seen how hairy those werewolves get. And yet, somehow, he still can't grow an actual beard. Go figure."
